🏰Turning Your Room into a Ghibli Movie (On a Budget!)

🏰Turning Your Room into a Ghibli Movie (On a Budget!)

Let's be real: we all want to live in Howl’s Moving Castle or Arrietty’s little garden house. We want that cozy, cluttered, magical vibe. ✨

But looking at Pinterest can be discouraging (and expensive). The good news? You don't need to renovate your house to get that "Cottagecore" or "Goblin-core" look. It’s all about the small details.

Here are 3 tiny changes I made to my space to make it feel more magical: 🌿

1. Warm, Low Light 🕯️
Turn off the big ceiling light! That’s rule number one. Use small lamps, fairy lights, or candles. Warm light makes everything look softer and dreamier. Shadows are where the magic hides.

2. Bring Nature In (Dead or Alive) 🍂
Plants are great, but dried flowers, pinecones, and interesting branches are even better (and they don't die!). They add that "witchy" texture to your shelves.

I love hanging my nut-shell chimes near my bookshelf or on a dry branch. They look like they grew there.

Carry a Little "Forest Spirit" with You 🍄
In Ghibli movies, everything seems to be alive. That’s why I love our little "acorn dolls" — they have faces!

I don't just leave them at home. I clip a little acorn spirit to my tote bag when I go out. It turns a boring bag into a traveler's satchel. It’s like having a little soot sprite hanging out with you all day.

You don't need a lot of money to find magic. You just need to look for things that have a soul.

What’s your favorite way to make your space cozy? Let me know! 🧺

With magic,
